PHAT09 Bass Camp : basic info that will help make
your party more fun & comfortable :
OPENING & ENTRY : This years festival will open on
Tuesday 30 December, gates will be open from 8am & you will be directed to
your camping space...the 2nd Zone will open at noon on 30 Dec for the preparty
& will feature mainly NZ DJs (except for NOISIA) thru until noon 31 Dec
when the mainstage will open, then both stages will run continuously thru until
9am on Friday 2 January...you will need to clear your campsite by 6pm at the
latest on 2 January.
NB Cars will be searched on entry
& any glass, alcohol, dangerous substances, animals will be refused
entry/confiscated.
NO PASS OUTS : you can arrive or leave at any
time however once you leave the site you will not be able to return
TICKETS :
are available thru our website, booking page, www.phatclub.co.nz , the early bird &
mid price tickets are now sold out & full price is $195 + bf.....Tickets
are also available from Everyman Records 249 Hardy St Nelson, Cosmic Corner
stores in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington & Auckland, the Inangahua
Store, Main Road Inangahua Junction, Play It Again in Queenstown & Wanaka
& Johns CD Store Blenheim.

CAMPING : please note you are allocated a
space approx the size of one standard car & tent per 2 people; if you
intend to bring large house trucks, buses or larger sized tents please contact
us first, Campervans are sweet but remember there will be no electricity
available, best to use gas & please ensure you have a fire extinguisher....
if you wish to camp with a group of friends please plan to arrive together
FOOD & DRINK & HOSPITALITY : we provide foodstalls with a huge
array of different kinds of foods, check the website late November for full
menus, 2 licenced bars, free drinking water (fresh west coast rainwater this year),
flush toilets, hot showers (pay per use $2 coins) & this year we hope to
have eftpos (keep an eye on the website for confirmation late Nov), otherwise
bring cash; the Phat Shop near the bar will provide a lost & found service
& sell bottled water, cigarettes, ice & other necessities such as basic
first aid items, sunscreen & insect repellant....We will have between 10
& 12 Food & Coffee vendors selling a huge range of foods including
whitebait sandwiches, woodfired pizza, gourmet homemade pies & sausage
rolls, ice creams & smoothies, cookies, curries, roasts & vege roasts,
macaroni cheese, fruit & vege salads, lasagne & pasta, wild pork
sandwiches, full breakfasts, yogart & fruit, bacon & eggs........Coffee
is Tuatara organik fairtrade roasted in Takaka & supplied by the Purple Bus
& other outlets....the 2 bars (one in each dance zone this year) will have
a range of cold (promise this year) beers & wicked cocktails sponsored by
Speights Summit pure, Jagermeister & Redbull....please reuse your cups
& use the seperate bins for recycling cans
ALL AGES : Phat09 is open to people of all
ages with children under 12 FREE entry, however if you are under 15 you must be
accompanied by an adult. You will require a photo ID to obtain the
wristband required to purchase alcohol from the licenced bar areas, please have
ready when you enter the gates with your ticket.
RESTRICTIONS : you are not permitted to bring
your own alcohol, glass, dogs or dangerous substances such as fireworks....you
are encouraged to bring your own food & cooking/bbq facilities however if
using gas appliances please also ensure you have a fire extinguisher....these
guidelines are to ensure the safety & good times of all, the site is on
farmland & glass destroys the feet of farm animals.
SAFETY : we will have health & safety
workers, a St Johns Ambulance & Medical Crew, lifeguards in the river &
friendly security & road traffic management workers employed for your
safety & assistance at all times during the event, please follow their
instructions, they’re acting in your best interests at all times...
COMMUNICATIONS : cell phone coverage is sketchy,
best to leave your phone locked in your car & remember some phones
continually roam looking for coverage if you leave them on so best to switch
off & save your batteries, we will have an emergency phone & radio
contact with the outside world if required....
SWIMMING HOLES : the site has a number of swimming
holes open during daylight hours only, these will be supervised by trained
lifeguards....please don't cross onto private lands across the river, the dense
bush can be unforgiving..... there's plenty of lush bush on site itself for you
to get "lost" in
BE PREPARED : please come prepared for both
heat & cold, dry & wet, with a good tent or other means of shelter,
both gumboots & jandals are fashion items at Phat!...this year we have the
option of offering a ready setup tent site including 2-6 person tents, sleeping
materials (mattress/sleeping bag) & cooking materials if required for an
additional cost, keep an eye on the website if interested in this option as we
will be providing a link to the business who will be providing this service,
all you do is buy your Festival Ticket, show up, check into your tent &
start partying, at the end of the festival you have the option of keeping your
sleeping bag or it will be donated to a local charity
MEDICATION : please bring any medication such
as asthma inhalers or insulin that you require or may require during the event…if
you are drinking please pace yourself & ensure you enjoy the full-lineup
& can remember the good times!
PETROL : NB their is NO PETROL at
Inangahua, please fill your car at Reefton, Murchison, Greymouth or
Westport....HOWEVER the Inangahua Store is now under new management &
offers delicious homemade pies, fresh fruit icecreams & real coffee!
LOCATION : INANGAHUA is on the West Coast of
the South
Island of New Zealand between Murchison, Reefton &
Westport with the site located in a valley surrounded by native rainforest...

TRANSPORT : Intercity Bus services &
Atomic Shuttles link Nelson, Picton, Greymouth & Westport & run thru
Inangahua, which is approx 3 hours drive west of Christchurch, one hours drive
east of Westport, 2 hours drive south of Nelson or 3 hours drive south of
Picton, where the ferry terminal links with Wellington & the North
Island...we will organize a van transfer service between the bus stop at
Inangahua & the party site.

ZERO WASTE & RECYCLING : many party’s advocate a zero
waste policy & ask you to take everything home with you (which would be
great in a perfect world!) however we will have a daily waste collection
tractor/trailor patrolling the campsites, please use the rubbish bags we
provide you with on entry & also use the separate can recycling areas near
the entry to the zones & bars.
